Chao Zhang is the co-founder and COO for NeuShen. He has over 14 years of pharma R&D experience in MNC and biotech companies, where he gained broad experiences with multiple leading roles in both discovery and development. Chao used to lead drug discovery and translational research for target identification and discovery NME in Roche and Novartis, while he also led development of functions for strategy planning & execution at JNJ, BMS. During that time, he contributed as a core team member to the development of Zykadia, Tabrecta, Balversa, Velcade, and Darzalex. He also led the product development team accountable on development strategy and lifecycle management.

Previously, Chao helped to build up the corporate portfolio and program management office at I-Mab, which was responsible for R&D governance set-up, portfolio prioritization, and business operations. He led the portfolio management team to manage the corporate R&D portfolio with a yearly budget at the billion RMB level as well as partnered with corporate functions in IPO, tax planning, and company reorganization initiatives.

Chao is a detail-oriented and strong team player with a proven track record in team leading and influencing people while also possessing a multicultural background.
